This book didn't do it for me! There was so much extraneous, irrelevant information, it was ridiculous! Why do I care how many pair of panties she packs when she goes on a stakeout!
Some things really bothered me in this story.
The book takes place in 1989. Kinsey Millhone is a private detective/investigator. Why in the world would she take a job for $200 cash? I kinda doubt anyone can hire an investigator for $200?
Also, why does Kinsey keep index cards and journals? She types on a typewriter! No computer? I think cell phones were just starting to be popular, so they weren't mentioned, but computers were used for business at that time. These things just didn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong.
Henry and his cat were a hoot!! I think they were the only thing I enjoyed in this story.
The mystery was ok, not thrilling or something I would remember later.
As one can see, I wasn't thrilled with this book.
