Casey doesn't get a lot of time to settle in before someone ends up dead. Does Death steer her towards a place she can make a difference? Death certainly helps her out by pointing out clues and bouncing ideas off her. Liked the setting - I could easily imagine it - even if Krystal and Dylan are a bit over the top for my taste. I liked all the various motives that surface, lots of twists and turns, and I had someone else entirely in mind for the murderer. One thing I find interesting is that when I read different reviews, other people see Death as male. I see Death as female - I think because of the speech patterns. But Wikipedia has "L'Ankou" as a male, and that's what Casey calls Death...hmmm. A quick look at various scenes gives me no clues, Clemons seems pretty careful about it, but I will pay more attention in the next. Anyway, a good addition to the series.
