I really like this series of books. The author created a new history of vampires that is intriguing, as well as a central piece of the plot.

Having said that, of the first 4, this one is my least favorite. Still worth the read, as there are only 5 books total. I believe an effort was made to help them stand alone, but you really need to read them in order.

I can't wait to see how the plot line wraps up!
