Cassie Edwards writes very good Indian stories. She also has a gentleness about her writing and it softens the ugliness that could be told but isn't. It is a sweet story about how welcoming the Indians could be and how gentle they are with children and how life was lived among them. It also portrays some of the problems amongst the Indians. Its a story about a young woman who wants to chose how to live her life and not bacome a nun and a Chief who gives her a place in his world and then fights to hand on to her. A good story.
