This series took me a bit to get into. I read the first one, and was content to leave it alone for awhile. Then I happened upon another in the series, and that started me wondering what I was missing, so I continued on to the second, third, and the fourth. I am so immersed in this story now, that I was cursing the author when I ran out of published books to read ;) I am currently waiting for the next installment to drop.

But in particular about Book one, it is definitely something different. I read a lot of paranormal books, and this had a totally unique flavor. You have the story of revenge, the "I am woman and WILL get stronger" theme, and a hint of romance, all wrapped up in the "american tourist in europe" feel. As I said, it didn't catch me right away with book one, but a kernel did remain in my brain to prod me on months later to keep going. I'm glad I did cause the story continues to grow and blossom into untold depths.

I'm not only keeping my copy, I'm lending it to friends.
