It's 1920. Dovey Coe is an out spoken North Carolina mountain girl. Dovey Coe is also in jail for murder. And Dovey Coe is only 12 years old. This is a wonderful richly written story that takes you to a time and place in the mountains that leaves one feeling like they just went back in time. I loved Miss Dovey Coe. I loved this author and I loved this story. Note: This book for some reason is rated for children but it is for young adults and adults.
