When Jillian Lovitz runs to Japan to see her sister, Summer, and her brother-in-law, Taka, she finds that they are currently in hiding from Russian mercenaries. The Russians see this is a chance to use Jilly as bait to lure Taka out of hiding; but The Committee has sent their newest operative, Reno, to rescue Jilly. When flamboyant Reno and Jilly met two years ago, Jilly's sister warned Reno to leave her alone. Now Reno and Jilly are trying to stay one step ahead of Russian mobsters while trying to keep their hands off of each other.

This was an entertaining addition to Stuart's Ice series. Reno is described as tall and lean with tattoos and long hair dyed flame red. I can't imagine a secret agent with that description. But what makes him unique in this series is the fact that he doesn't start out with the idea that the heroine is expendable. He comes off as much more human than the other heroes in the series. Of course, he does fall into the category of one of the many heroes who does not believe in love and makes some bonehead moves based on that belief. Jilly is a brainy young heroine who doesn't get to use her brain very often in this book. She has to rescued from various bad buys, but soon holds her own against them. My rating: 4 Stars.
