I read a Still Life with Elephant and loved the story. It was such a nice break from the other novels I was reading. I could not wait to read the next book.
In the first book Neelie turns down Tom and leaves for Africa to work with the baby elephants. A year later Africa is not stable to stay and she starts on a journey home. On her way home she meets a very colorful character named Diamond Rose. Before she leaves Africa she falls in love with an elephant that she has to leave behind. She returns to her elephants she first rescued. But she cannot stop thinking about the elephant she left behind.
Judys writing is smooth and entertaining. Her characters are colorful and engaging.
