Futuristic/ Sci-Fi romance by Linnea Sinclair, follow up to Shades of Dark. Reading the others in the series would be helpful, to understand much of the action. This story features Chasidah Bergren's ex-husband, Admiral Philip Guthrie. Philip is now an Admiral for the Rebel Alliance, and commanding an antiquated, former produce hauling vessel. Rya Bennton is a member of his new crew, and the daughter of one of Phillip's deceased friends. Phillip is attracted to the gun-toting, "amo-head," security fanatic Rya. But, she's his friend's only child, and sixteen years younger than he is. And there is no time for romance, when the ship breaks down on a regular basis, there's a mole on board, and very little hope of getting to their destination. This book is probably my favorite in the series. The characters are "real" people, with insecurities that we can relate to, no one in the book is any kind of super-natural being. There is plenty of action, mystery, suspence, and the romance is stellar. Worth a credit. Can't wait to get my hands on the next in series.
