I have to say I faltered a lot between 2 and 2 1/2 stars. I tried to read Jett and Natalie's story but thought it went nowhere. Redundant thoughts and feelings which is somewhat like this first half of the book. It took a lot for me to finish this because it's really slow. Given, it's a little bit better than Jett and Natalie's story.

Dare, didn't do anything for me. He was so flat as a character that I kept seeing him as one big board or bore. Whichever one. Also, if I'm trying to talk to a guy about our feelings/relationship and he finds the need to punch things, I would have doubts about his control and tendency towards violence. It wasn't sexy. It was like some teenage boy reaction. Drama queen.

Molly was intriguing but the "I don't want to be a bother" attitude got old real quick. There was some inconsistency to her character as well. I mean for someone who was supposed to be straight-forward with her feelings, she sure said she was fine a lot when she wasn't. But she was still a better character, more developed than Dare. To tell you the truth, I think with what little scenes Trace and Chris had, they were more interesting than Dare. Even the dogs beat Dare in that category.

The chemistry between Dare and Molly were kind of dull as well. I keep looking forward to more scenes with other people in it because those were more entertaining.

The last quarter of the book was worth it and I wished Foster would have dragged that out and expanded it. Maybe take out 100 pages of Dare and Molly's "getting to know each other - playing house scenes". I would have liked to spend more time trying to figure out who kidnapped Molly. Perhaps the book wouldn't have dragged on so much then. The end was somewhat anti-climatic but it was still better than the first half.

There is almost no humor in this book. I miss that from Foster's other works (Temptation and Visitation books). Don't know if this book was worth it even if you are borrowing from the library. I'm unsure if I'll read Trace and Alani's story. They seem like interesting characters here, but of late I have been finding Foster's work to be a disappointment. It's like she is going back to her really early works where she just babbles a lot about nothing.
