This was the December 2013 pick in my neighborhood book club, but I think it's too much of a special interest read to make for a good book club book.

We travel with the witty and humorous Alec Le Sueur as he travels from Europe to Asia, seeking an increasingly exciting career in the hotel industry.

At times the descriptions and extended explanations of Chinese culture and customs got tedious and I found myself skimming. The sarcastic tone didn't in any way make visiting Tibet, Hong Kong, etc., appealing. Mostly it felt like the author was simply making fun of the contrasts between Eastern and Western cultures.
