Sue Grafton and her alphabet series of crime novels featuring former California cop turned private investigator Kinsey Millhone, captured readers' fancy from the very beginning with "A" is for Alibi. Kinsey is one of those wonderful characters who resonate with likability. Vulnerable, but not fragile; brave but not foolish; above all, decent, Kinsey is the type of person you want as a friend. And if you can't have that, the next best thing is to read about her!
