This is not the quirky, dark-humored writing I am accustumed to from Ms Langton. It does, however bring starkly home how unglorious war is for the participants. The Kellys don't really have much to do with the plot. It is more riveting than most Langton books.Enjoyable and historical. There is a new follow up to this cast of characters. Can't recall the title, but published 05 or 06.
