Sloane and Senator Whit Montgomery are now married after Sloane's husband and Whit's wife were killed in a shooting accident. Sloane has lupus and needs a hip replacement. They hire Athena who is hiding secrets to take care of Sloane until she recovers. Sloane's health is slowly degrading and she seems to be getting worse. This is an engaging drama with lots of twists and turns with an unbelievable plot that kept me interested until the final reveal. The chapters switch between Sloane, Whit, Athena and Rosemary. It is a slow burn and the pace doesn't pick up until the last part of the book. If you like psychological mystery then you will love this book.
