Like all books, just inside on the first few pages you will find quotes regaling the reader with their praises for the story. Unfortunately, Im of the opinion that these praises must be for some other story. Fast-paced from (Booklist) Not! Engaging...[a] thrilling climax. . I dont think so.
Since this is the 1st Fargo Adventure Ive read, I was left in the dark trying to understand who Sam & Remi were and how and where they came into their vast fortune. Some of the other main characters were mysterious to me also. (Not good.)
Ive read many adventure stories with some historic facts tossed in for good measure. This one is no different; it is a fairly good read in that I just had to keep reading it to see what would eventually happen. Also, I was enjoying learning about the Mayan culture and what had happened years ago. Other than that, the story was fairly boring: too many details about (in my humble opinion) insignificant things.
The thrilling climax never did come...in fact, I was not surprised when I came to the end of the story.
Bottom line: I wouldnt read another Fargo Adventure. This one was enough for me!
