This is a light-hearted novel (a la Geralyn Dawson) with lots of amusing dialogue. The whole plot rotates around Cassie Stuart's interfering with a twenty-five-year-old feud between two families. She notices that the younger daughter and son of opposing sides were smitten with each other. She encouraged them to marry. Then trouble began again, this time against Cassie.
The Angel of Death and Cassie were well-matched. Cassie was capable of creating untold trouble and The Angel (a rugged gunfighter) was capable of ending the trouble. However, Cassie wanted a peacemaker and Angel was more adept at using his Peacemaker (gun).
The one thing I thought stupid was the subplot with the black panther. It really didn't seem to add much to the plot. Otherwise, the story moved at a great pace. I didn't learn until the end that this is the third book of the "Wyoming" series.
Wyoming Series
1. Brave the Wild Wind (1984)
2. Savage Thunder (1989)
** 3. Angel (1993)
