Just back from Munich - this book was very helpful. I only noticed one thing lacking: it didn't tell me where to find a Birkenstock store! But do be aware if you go that while the palaces are magnificent to tour, they don't tell you anything about the way people really lived so long ago. I've been spoiled by Williamsburg, where I live, where they truly do make history come alive with the "costumed interpreters."
