I started watching The Vampire Diaries on TV as soon as it started this whole thing is right up my alley! I wasnt in love with it at first, but after a few episodes it really brought me in and has become one of my favorite shows.

Which means that I had high expectations for this book, perhaps too high. The first book, The Awakening, is a mere 255 pages andtheres a lot to fit in with a small amount of book space to do it. We have to be introduced to our main cast of characters, Elena and Stefan have to meet each other, scary things have to happen, etc. Its a fast read, but the action went waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast for my taste.
