This was a wonderful story. The main character was broke and in debt, working as a public defender. His girlfriend's family want her to marry a man with ambition and a lot of money. He wants to do the right thing and isn't motivated by money. But one day a huge case falls in his lap and he has a moral choice to make. He can represent a murder victim as the public defender, or he can present the murderer as a victim of a large pharmacuetical company's bad drug and make a killing by turning his back on the murder victim and their family. He follows the money. Before he knows it he's in over his head, caught up in the greed and craziness of mass tort litigation. He makes and loses a fortune almost overnight. In the end he sets out to right his wrongs and the girl of his dreams comes back into his life.
