Samantha Jenson is a cowgirl trying to save her familys ranch. To do so, she runs a dude ranch and deals with tourists whove never seen horses before, all while dreaming of owning a racehorse and starting up a breeding farm. Her mother, Angie, still mourns the death of her husband, a rodeo star.

Among the tourists in jeans and stiff cowboy boots is a family: Jeffrey and Vickie Ames and their handsome son, Ethan, and his cousin, Daniel. Theyre at the ranch for a vacation, but it soon becomes clear that they want to buy the property cheaply and develop a shopping mall. Jeffrey forces Ethan to get close to Samantha so shell be more amenable to selling out.

However, Ethan becomes enamored not only of Samantha but of her easygoing lifestyle, away from the crowds and noise of New York City. Its a simple read with a decent plot and likable characters. Recommended.
