Jesse Stone is my favorite Parker series (I haven't started on Spenser yet).

This one doesn't have a lot of 'action' in it and deals too much with relationships and that gets a little ho hum at times and you just want to get on with the murder story, but yet it's easy reading and easy dialogue so you won't skip any of it and it goes pretty quick.
