Having recently read INHERITED BRIDE and THE UNCLAIMED BRIDE, I feel that this story is the stronger of the two (by this author). Laura Robinson did a great job of parsing out the details of the heroine's previous life, so the reader wasn't sure about the facts until near the end.
A young woman travels from New York to wed a man (as a mail-order bride) only to find that the man has died suddenly. A lonely young girl and her father agree to take the shocked and stranded woman home with them until she can decide what to do about her situation. The town is full of men hoping to marry the stranded woman.
There is a mystery in this story; I don't want to spoil the plot as it unfurls. This is a great page-turner.
