Love Nancy Drew. The early ones feature some characters who disappeared as the 'main cast' took shape, so I enjoyed Nancy's gushing over a boy that wasn't Ned. Also, no Bess and George. Fun, mysterious, and just as wholesome as Keene's publishers required. She wrote another series with a sassier girl, but it never got quite the amount of attention Nancy did.
