I don't review or rate many books, but this one was a HUGE one for me. This is a spectacular book and is one of my absolute favorites by this author. I can't say enough about how this story affected me. I laughed, cried and cheered on Elsa and her family who faced unimaginable challenges from nature and other American citizens (who were clearly prejudice). A story of fierce motherhood as I have experienced it and tried to instill on my own little family. During current times in the US, this story is extremely relevant, history repeats itself.
