I liked the book a lot but it's clearly not as good as the others in the series.

The problem, I think, it that this book had too much angst with the characters (self doubt, are they doing the right thing, thoughts of revenge, petty jealousy, girlfriend/boyfriend troubles). While angst is a staple of young adult fiction, it is typically not in books that are more action oriented..

There are two 'authorized' missions in the book, and they were excellent. There was one 'unauthorized' mission in the book and it was very good.

Some have complained about the violence in this series - well duh -- it's about kids going after bad guys. In this book one of the girls (11 or 12) is kidnapped by child traffickers and one bad guy tries to rape her, she stabs him with a knife. The violence is not gratuitous, it's a deeper part of the plot. Several bad guys get hurt, and two of the good guys get beat up and another good guy breaks a leg.

This is an excellent series and I highly recommend it.
