This is the second novel featuring amateur detective and novice dog fancier Melanie Travis. The story is set in motion by the death of her friend Jenny's dog, Ziggy. Soon Jenny is dead from chronic arsenic poisoning, but Ziggy turns up alive. The mystery deepens when a second corpse (this one also human) is discovered at a dog show.
