The Mischief of the Mistletoe is a light romantic romp that just happens to include a bit about spies which I did not think fit into the tale that well. I really like this series by Willig but felt that this one felt short compared to the other novels in the series. Of course, all the novels are fun to read and I do like Willig's style.

The characters in Mischief are well developed. One cannot help liking Arabella Dempsey, the female heroine, or Reginald "Turnip" Fitzhugh, her romantic counterpart. At times Turnip's conversation became too much for me. While he seems to be well read his conversational style is so simple. However, we all know people like him who are social misfits yet everyone loves them just the same because they are so honest, trusting and forthright. It's a quick fun read and a good respite from heavier reads. I recommend it for those who want to read it for that reason.
