Truly a remarkable book about endurance, heroism, and phenomenal events that occurred during the typhoon. Amazing story of courage, and some cases neglect for the men aboard the vessels that went down. Imagine being swept overboard in 90 foot waves with just a life jacket or some cases with none. Yet these men who survived took a tremendous beating to their bodies (the sun, water, wind, and sharks). If you want a true life picture of this event in history, with both the courage and neglect along with the inquiry afterward (of which I don't feel was given the full measure of attention). However, the book is told from the view of the survivors, and it is a gripping tale.
Wonderfully written. Hard to put down.
