Being a huge Patterson reader I thought this was just a ho-hum read. The first half of the story is kind of boring, its easy to stick with because of the short chapters, etc. as is Patterson style, but it gets to the point of 'where is this going', you already know the characters, you know the plotline, you know the crime, you know basically everything THEN it hits the fan and it takes a twist you probably don't see coming and it takes off in a different direction, however, it is not one of his best and he might be better off to write on his instead of having a writing partner.
