Tamera Alexander has done it again! I thought that the Fountain Creek Chronicles series was my favorite historical romance series but this series, the Timber Ridge Reflections series promises to be just as good. This first book in the series was so great! Elizabeth is a lady photographer from Washington, DC who has come out to the "Wild West" to take pictures for the people of "The East". She has an ulterior motive, of course! I loved the way Ms. Alexander wrote the connection between Daniel, our hero, and Elizabeth! WOW! What a fantastic use of history! Perfect! Actually, one of my favorite characters was Josiah, a former slave who is Elizabeth's assistant. The story of his past will bring tears to your eyes. The last paragraph in this book completely choked me up and I had to stop reading because of the tears in my eyes! Well, the tears didn't stop there! Oh, how I love a good epilogue and this one....was the best I've ever read! Oh, good grief! What a lump I had in my throat! That's a sure sign of a fabulous book!
