A great follow up to "Dark Lover." I would recommend reading the series in order. I didn't so I know the next book is probably the one filled with heartache but I still look forward to reading it.

The action was fast paced and Mary was a great protagonist. I noticed Ward's love and violent scenes were more detailed compared to the first book. Mary had a lot of guts even though some it was false bravado. I really liked her character and could really understand why she was pushing Rhage away. Rhage was such a cry baby but adored him still since he was such a sweetheart. I enjoyed that Rhage actually wanted a relationship and was doing the pursuing. Also there were great introductions to Z and Bella (next book) and John (the possible reincarnation of Darius).

Things I disliked about the book was Ward's inconsistency in dialogue. Sometimes the characters are overly street or ghetto when they took then they are super eloquent. Not sure the street talk really add to it and thought it would be better if Ward chose one and stuck to it. Also the scenes with the Lessers are still a little boring but I think they have improved compared to the first book.

Overall a great series and well worth the read.
