I've never read anything by this author before, but I'd read good reviews about this book and picked it up when I saw it on the audio CD shelves at my local library. I found that I couldn't stop thinking about the story when I wasn't in the car listening to it; and while I didn't like any of the characters, I found that I cared about what was happening to them. In the end, a very enjoyable read.
