I did enjoy this read, but it grated on one of my main romance novel sticking points: plain women who suddenly look beautiful. I have no problem with lovely heroines, but Izzy was 100% seen as plain by everyone including herself. You can't turn into a beauty by removing a hat and wearing prettier clothes. It helps the appearance, but it is not a guarantee for a 180 transformation.
What I love is when a hero falls in love with a plain woman and she becomes more and more lovely to him, but her appearance does not make a drastic switch from plan to beautiful. That didn't really happen in this novel, although I loved how Izzy and Julian forged a friendship before they dove straight into romance. That was sweet and worth the read.
