Book Review of NYPD Blue Lies: The Shocking True Story of Racism, Corruption, Cover-Ups and Murder in the NYPD

This was an interesting read to me. Half of my family are retired NYPD so what he talks about is basically true. There is a problem of racism in the NYPD but some of the things Castro went through, I think he brought them on himself. Two of my family knew him personally and were not impressed by his manner. He was a jokester and some of the actions he did were a little wild. He was known to be a smart mouth and that never leads to easy times in any job. I think he has a high opinion of himself and expects others to feel likewise. I am not sure if what he says really happened as he recounts; there are always two sides to everything. If you like to read about cops and the machinations in the NYPD mgt., this may appeal to you.
