I believe Ambrose does a good job telling us why Eisenhower's decision, not to go for Berlin, was not only the best decision at the time, but how it also didn't effect post-war difficulties with the Russians.

He also alludes to how a dying Roosevelt made decisions he shouldn't have made. Frankly, Roosevelt is not one of my favorite presidents and I think he is vastly over rated for many reasons.

This books is a short---less than 100 pages if you don't count the appendices--- but excellent examination of the Berlin decision.
