This collection is a tad bit hit and miss, but far more hit than miss. Some of the stories were never intended for publication, but merely to amuse the writer and his friends and they feel lightweight because of it. Not to say they are badly written, but when put beside some of the jewels also included here, it becomes more apparent. But when these stories are good, they are terrific and some of his best. It is also illuminating to see his psychologies and philosophies around love and sex, things he didn't feel able to publish in his lifetime.
