This is a handbook in the truest sense: the author assumes that you already know all the reasons to wean your kids, or prevent them altogether, from TV, and just goes right to the ideas of how to do it. There's a section of recommendations for every age group (toddler, preschool, school age, and older kids) and other sections like how to make dinner without turning on the television. Overall, it's a decent book, easy to use - you can flip right to the section of ideas for your child's age and tell them what to do, or do something with them. There are about as many independent activities as as there are parent-involved activities. If what you're looking for is a way to get your kids off TV, this is a great choice. If you're trying to decide whether or not to TRY to get your kids off TV lol or trying to convince your partner that you need to get your kids off TV, there are better books out there (The Plug-In Drug; Amusing Ourselves to Death.)
