James F. David's "Fragments" is a real departure from "Footprints of Thunder" and was totally not what I was expecting. It is, however, a good book with several original ideas and a solid storyline.
When an experiment goes terribly awry the researchers and participants are faced with a completely unforseen combination of autistic children, a manevolent ghjost and a psycotic physic killer which developes it's own personality and agenda. All involved are pulled into a dangerous situation which a small-town sherriff is powerless to control.
With the help of the kids and a double amputee victim of the psyco killer, Frankie, the ghost/new personality is brought under control.
The action is fast-paced and the characters are pretty well developed. As a psychiartrist Davids is uniquely qualified to write this kind of novel with enough fact to make it almost believable.
This book is a good read which offers some new material for your imagination.
