I'm not a *typical* comic book reader, but I thoroughly enjoy graphic memoirs and will read anything Lucy Knisley creates. She has documented so much of her life in her books, and in Kid Gloves she shares her pregnancy and birth experiences as well as outlines facts and folklore about contraception, pregnancy, and childbirth.
This book is raw and honest and brutal and beautiful. If you've never read a comic book but are interested in these important events in a woman's life, read this memoir. TW: fertility issues, miscarriage, near-death post-birth complications.
