I loved this book. It kept me wanting to know more and more. Then next thing you know it was done. So I had to go out and get the next one.
It's about a boy named Tom who is the 7th son of the 7th son. That makes it perfect for him to become a spook. So at the age of 12, he sets off with the current spook to train. A spook's job is to take care of ghosts, witches, boggarts, etc. Tom trains and soon finds that he is left by himself so the Spook can take care of matter in another town. This turns out to be a set up so some witches can get at Tom. They want him to release a powerful witch that the Spook has "locked up". Without realizing what he did until it is too late, the witch is released. He decides to go after her. From there is just keeps getting better. You must read the book to find out more.
