In this novel, our favorite sniper, Bob Lee Swagger, goes back in time to try to solve the murder of his father, an Arkansas State Trooper. Blue Eye was a small, average, southern American town in the very beginnings of the battle between the whites and blacks in 1955. On a hot morning in July, Trooper Earl Swaggers life becomes increasingly complicated when he becomes involved in solving the brutal rape and murder of a young black girl while trying to help newly-released small-time criminal Jimmy Pye get his life back on track. What ensues that fateful day not only changes the lives of those in 1955, but also today, as Bob Lee uncovers a hornets nest of cover-ups, lies, and conspiracy. But with Bob Lees life now full of love with his wife and a son, hes not going down without a fight!

This book offers several surprises and twists that are sometimes hard to follow, but stick with it and take notes if you need to, because its worth it in the end! Bob Lee doesnt disappoint and his skills havent diminished since becoming a husband and father. Love this man! Hes not afraid to do whats right and let the chips fall where they may. Its refreshing to see justice in todays world of bleeding heart liberals.
