This book was quite interesting to me because it's the only one that deal with the accounts of persons close to Jefferson for many years. Both Isaac, a slave, and Edmund Bacon, an overseer, were interviewed at the age of 65. Their recollections of the daily activities at Monticello are fascinating. This is a great read for anyone interested in Jefferson as a person dealing with everyday people and problems.
