Of Murder and Men is the third installment in the Cat Latimer Mystery series set in the small town of Aspen Hills, Colorado. With repairs and renovations almost complete on the old Victorian she'd inherited from her deceased ex husband Michael, Cat is looking forward to hosting another monthly writer's retreat, this one hopefully murder free.

Cat's a little nervous that her best friend and business partner Shauna Clodagh is spending so much time with her boyfriend Kevin Shield at his ranch. One thing that makes the writer's retreats so special is Shauna's fantastic cooking, and if she decides to move in with Kevin, Cat doesn't even want to think about finding a replacement to help run the B&B. When Kevin pops the question, Shauna is thrilled and to celebrate she makes Kevin his favorite dish of Irish Stew.

Sadly, Kevin suddenly goes missing during the night and the women call the police chief who happens to be Cat's Uncle Pete. Unfortunately for Shauna, Kevin is found dead in his horse barn and the autopsy points to poison. Between farm hands and the other women in Kevin's life, Cat has her hands full of suspects but she is determined to find Kevin's killer and clear her friend's name with the help of Uncle Pete, her boyfriend Seth Howard and retreat guest Shirley Mann, a retired Alaskan detective turned true crime writer.

A fast paced storyline with a great cast of returning characters. The secondary mystery surrounding Cat's ex husband Michael's death continues with more clues and information surfacing as Cat pages through his many notebooks and college papers. Cat discovers that the mob connection to Covington College plays an even bigger role in Michael's death than she originally thought and is left wondering exactly how the mysterious Dante Cornelio fits into the puzzle.
