You have to have watched the TV show. If you have and if you like it (and it's hard to imagine anyone who wouldn't), then this book will be a lot of fun for you. Written from the point of view of Natalie, Monk's assistant and keeper, we follow our favorite obsessive-compulsive detective as he brilliantly solves another couple of murders--one of the victims is the firehouse dog.

Lee Goldberg, the author, knows his Monk. He has written several episodes of the show. You'll fall right into the rhythm and flow of a Monk episode and enjoy the ride.
