Check your attitude before you start reading this book. Had avoided it for a long time because of negative feedback about the content. However, I disagree with the view that it is about abuse. It's about a couple learning to enjoy each other in their own way. Absolutely gripping. Loved it; did not want to put it down. The characters are so well crafted and their relationship is like an intense, beautiful dance.
