My daughter loved this book! She says the book is very entertaining and well written. Kanani's cousin, Rachel, comes to spend part of the summer with them while her newly married mom and her husband go on their honeymoon. Rachel, who is from New York, does not act like she is having a good time. She instead seems lonely. Kanani does her best to make Rachel feel welcome, but her attempts only seem to make Rachel feel worse. But over time, several events help pull the girls closer together and Kanani learns what it means to be a true friend.
