This is the 3rd book in the series Hines has written about Jig the Dragonslayer - a goblin. It's a good book with the story of how Jig (and his cohorts who change from book to book) go out into the world for the first time in their lives. They still have the same attitude that cowardice is their best strategy for staying alive - but Jig has a knack for being forced way out of his comfort zone into "bravery". Also we get an idea of what really has been the story of the god "Shadowstar" In many ways I liked this book the most. It really makes it clear that these books are sword and sorcery stories told from the "monster's" point of view. That POV is vastly different depending on the monster in question - but for the goblins it is unique - and understandable. I've enjoyed this series. I don't know if there will be more - but I really enjoyed it. Maybe there will be stories about the gods and myths of this world in the next books.
