A reprint of an older book, Remember Summer is a bid by the author to capitalize on her success and name recognition. The story premise is interesting but the execution is rough. A better editor would have cleared up the glaring repetition and plot inconsistencies. Despite the sometimes ridiculous dialogue and unbelievable interactions of the characters, horse enthusiasts will find a lot of Olympic action and detail to distract them from the cliched romance and graceless writing style. For an Elizabeth Lowell fan, like myself, it was interesting reading to see where she started from and how much her craft has improved over the years.
