Leon doesn't have time to find a wife. He has a 20,000 acre ranch. Instead of conventional methods of finding a partner, Leon puts an ad in a magazine. Cassie Esterbridge seems like the answer to his prayers. She did forget to mention her four year old son, which strikes Leon as a peculiar detail to leave out, but then she's a fine woman. They settle into their new life with excitement and happiness. And then along comes Cassie's brothers--Newt, her 19 year old brother who is an artist, 7 year old Freddie, 10 year old Bart, who can't see without his glasses and the twins, Kyler and Kole who are 14.

Leon had not been expecting anything more than a wife, but a large ranch seems like a fine place to raise her family to Cassie. And a man like Leon has more love than he knows to give to his mail-order brood.
