Spot on first novel. Milchman writes smoothly with the perfect blend of suspense and mystery, with a touch of romance. I found this book on a markdown rack at the grocery store and I am very glad that I did, as it is the first book in a long time that I did not want to put down. Her insight into rural communities in the frozen North was excellent.
